Diabetic Foot Care

Diabetic Foot Care

BOOK NOW

Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic disease that has many negative effects on the body. Generally, the feet are one of the first areas of the body to present with diabetic complications. In the feet, loss of feeling, poor blood supply, poor healing rates and dry skin are just some of the issues that can arise. If left unchecked, these complications can lead to serious issues such as ulcers,  infections and amputations.

Podiatrists will maintain skin and nail care, check the blood flow and sensation in your feet and report back to your GP or diabetic specialist with the results. We also assist in footwear advice to avoid injuries and skin issues.

If you have diabetes, your GP will recommend you get an annual diabetes foot check from your podiatrist.
